𝗪𝗲 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗛𝗶𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴: 𝗡𝗲𝘁𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸 & 𝗗𝗮𝘁𝗮 𝗖𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗿
The Network & Data Center Engineer will handle LAN/WAN infrastructure design and implementation and data center operations management and network security system maintenance at the Head Office in Karachi. The position ensures network and data center resources operate with high availability and peak performance while maintaining complete security. The engineer will also oversee data center power systems to ensure continuous operation.
𝗘𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻:- Admitted to university with major in computer science or telecommunications.
𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲:- A three-year practical experience in local and wide area networking, configuring MikroTik devices, managing VPNs, operating data centers, handling power infrastructure, and using network monitoring tools.
𝗞𝗲𝘆 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀:
- You will get trained on data till October 2023.
- The work includes the design, configuration, and maintenance of LAN/WAN networks and also involves the routing, switching, and network segmentation aspects of it.
- The responsibility of the network includes managing and handling routers, firewall rules, and advanced routing (Static Routes, OSPF, VLANs, NAT).
- The performance of the networks (WAN/LAN) is constantly monitored to guarantee uptime, stability, and scalability.
- VPN technologies (IPSec, OpenVPN, L2TP, SSTP) for secure remote access and site-to-site communication are configured, managed andtroubleshot. Compliance with encryption standards and security is guaranteed.
The operations of the data center are a day-to-day affair where availability, scalability, and security of all hosted systems are ensured.
The responsibility of the data center infrastructure goes from security (fire, HVAC, access control) to maintenance and includes environmental monitoring systems as well.
Documentation is kept up with for rack layouts, cabling, and network diagrams.The power infrastructure that includes UPS systems, PDUs, generators, and power distribution is monitored and maintained. Redundancy and failover systems are made sure they are operational for uninterrupted power supply.
The power equipment maintenance and testing are coordinated with the vendors and internal teams.
Monitoring tools (Solar Wind, Zabbix, PRTG, etc.) are used to keep track of the health of the network and the data center.𝗧𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝗸𝗶𝗹𝗹𝘀:-
- You possess a solid understanding of LAN/WAN technologies, TCP/IP, subnetting, routing, and switching.
- In addition to that, you are well-versed in MikroTik configuration (Router OS, Win Box, Firewall, VPN, Queues, etc.).
- Also, you have worked with VPN setup and troubleshooting (IPSec, L2TP, OpenVPN, PPTP, SSTP).
- You are familiar with data centre tier standards on a basis, cable management and server hardware management.
- Still, you hold the knowledge of power systems UPS, generators and overall data centre power distribution and infrastructure.
