Assistant Accountant Role Overview:

The Assistant Accountant will have a major responsibility in the area of financial transactions control, the drawing up of precise ledgers, and the compliance with the accounting rules of the UAE. The candidate will be able to get the most out of their experience in logistics, as the position is very hands-on in supporting the daily finance operations. The person we are looking for should be detail-focused, able to analyze, and at the same time able to handle many priorities competently.

Core Responsibilities:

The selected candidate will handle day-to-day accounting activities including invoicing, petty cash management, reconciliation, and preparing journal entries. You will also be responsible for managing accounts receivable and payable, ensuring timely follow-ups, and maintaining clear communication with internal and external stakeholders.

VAT and Compliance Management:

A vital part of this role involves overseeing VAT and Corporate Tax (CT) filing processes in accordance with UAE financial laws. You will maintain all financial documentation, ensure timely submissions, and support the finance manager in preparing audit reports and compliance documentation.

Collaboration and Coordination:

The Assistant Accountant will liaise closely with various departments, suppliers, and clients to ensure smooth communication of financial matters. You will also assist in preparing monthly reports, forecasts, and cash flow statements, contributing to the company’s financial planning and operational decisions.

Technical Proficiency and Tools:

Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel, and familiarity with accounting software. Attention to detail, accuracy in financial data entry, and the ability to analyze figures and detect discrepancies are crucial for success in this position.
