Pakistan Refinery Limited is looking for resumes for the post of Assistant Shift Boiler Superintendent in our Operations (Boiler House) Department. The preferred candidate should possess D.A.E (Mechanical) and 2nd Class / C Class Boiler Engineer Certification from a recognized institution (valid certification). The applicant must have at least 2–3 years of relevant work experience, out of which 2 years should be onsite experience with BMS and DCS control systems.

JOB TITLE : Assistant Shift Boiler Superintendent
REPORTS TO : Shift Manager Plant Operations
LOCATION : Karachi, Pakistan

The Assistant Shift Boiler Superintendent will be accountable to the Shift Manager Plant Operations and will receive functional guidance from the Shift Boiler Superintendent in carrying out tasks such as employing all boilers, which means handling planned and emergency shutdowns, startups, troubleshooting, and annual maintenance activities. He or she is expected to know very well the operation of other equipment such as compressors, pumps, furnaces, and turbines, and to take care of the fuel consumption in such a way that it will conform to material and energy balance requirements. The position entails the upkeep of logbooks, log sheets, and monitoring boiler feedwater (BFW) quality and process parameters to determine whether they are within limits. The operator will also immediately alert the Shift Boiler Superintendent to the problems in the day-to-day operations that need to be addressed.

Education: 2nd Class / C Class Boiler Engineer certification from an accredited institution (with the validity of the certification) plus a D.A.E. in Mechanical. Experience: 2-3 years of applicable experience, out of which 2 years should be the hands-on one with BMS and DCS control systems. The Oil & Gas sector experience is an advantage. Technical Skills: Diagnosing, emergency risk managing, operating and controlling, PTW system knowing, and being computer literate (MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint). Non-Technical Skills: Problem-solving, cooperating, being result-oriented, communicating effectively, and having high safety awareness.
