GL Accountant Jobs In Abu Dhabi, – United Arab Emirates

Job Overview:

Baniyas Coop is now on the lookout for a talented and meticulous GL Accountant to become a member of our finance department in Abu Dhabi. The perfect applicant will possess excellent skills in general ledger administration, financial reconciliation, and compliance reporting. This position is critical in verifying the correctness of financial statements and in facilitating the uninterrupted monthly closing activities.

Core Responsibilities:

The GL Accountant will manage end-to-end accounting processes, including preparing and posting journals for accruals, prepayments, provisions, and depreciation. You will be responsible for reviewing and reconciling bank accounts, accounts payable, accounts receivable, intercompany balances, and GRNI accounts while ensuring timely and accurate postings in the ERP system.

Month-End Closing:

The role requires the ability to perform month-end closing procedures within set timelines, producing accurate trial balances and conducting variance analysis. Maintaining an organized chart of accounts and cost centers, and ensuring that all transactions adhere to internal control policies, will be an essential aspect of this position.

VAT and Compliance:

As part of the finance function, you will review VAT input and output reports, prepare supporting schedules, and ensure VAT returns are filed accurately and on time. The candidate will also ensure all accounting processes comply with IFRS and UAE financial regulations while maintaining transparent and auditable records.

Audit and Reporting:

You will assist in both internal and external audits by preparing lead schedules, reconciliations, and providing supporting documentation. This role requires strong attention to detail to ensure clean audit points and consistent reporting accuracy across all financial operations.

Collaboration and Support:

The GL Accountant will work closely with departments such as Procurement, Payroll, and Stores to resolve financial discrepancies and support decision-making. Additionally, you will contribute to the budgeting process, cash-flow forecasting, and provide insights to management for operational improvements.
