About the role
Mughal Steel is seeking a highly skilled and proactive Head of Maintenance – Heavy Machinery who has experience to be in charge of maintenance and reliability of the heavy mobile assets fleet in the Lahore plant. The main concern of this position is with heavy cranes, mobile lifters/boom trucks, excavators, bulldozers, heavy trailers/trucks, trolleys, and other mobile/haulage equipment which are used for material handling and site operations.
Key Responsibilities
- The maintenance strategy and planning and execution of heavy mobile and haulage assets including cranes and mobile lifters and excavators and dozers and haul trucks and trailers and trolleys and forklifts when needed will be under your responsibility.
- The program will implement a preventive and predictive maintenance system to achieve maximum equipment availability while minimizing unexpected breakdowns.
- You will perform inspections of the fleet and conduct pre-use checks and load-testing programs and periodic inspections for lifting equipment and trailers while maintaining inspection records.
- The team will perform major mobile equipment maintenance through contractor-assisted overhauls and breakdown restorations and heavy repairs and borescope and hydraulic pump replacements.
- You will oversee mobile fleet spare parts management to maintain inventory levels that support immediate needs while minimizing storage expenses.
Candidate profile / minimum qualifications
- The applicant needs to hold either a degree or diploma from Mechanical or Automotive or Diesel or Industrial Engineering or any other relevant technical program.
- The candidate needs to demonstrate more than 12 years of experience working with heavy mobile equipment including cranes and excavators and dozers and heavy trucks and trailers while holding at least 5 years of supervisory experience preferably in plant or fleet maintenance.
- The candidate demonstrates exceptional hands-on expertise regarding diesel engines and hydraulics and transmissions and hoist systems and rigging and telematics and engine diagnostic systems.
- The candidate needs to track heavy equipment maintenance activities while directing repair crews and handling relationships with outside workshops and contractors.
- The candidate demonstrates exceptional leadership abilities together with expertise in planning and vendor relations and cost management and stakeholder relations.
