Liberty Mills Limited, a prominent player in the textile and apparel manufacturing sector of Pakistan, is looking for skilled and outcome-oriented persons to apply for the post of Assistant Manager – Industrial Engineering (Cut-to-Pack) at the company’s plant in the S.I.T.E Area, Karachi. The chosen applicant will take charge of overseeing and improving the various Industrial Engineering operations associated with the cutting, stitching, finishing, packing, and dispatching processes with the aim of achieving the highest levels of productivity, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness whilst still complying with the production and delivery schedules.

Key Responsibilities

• All activities related to Industrial Engineering for the whole cut-to-pack process at the Karachi plant shall be supervised and managed by you.

   

• A very detailed time and motion study covering cutting, sewing, finishing, packing, and dispatching operations shall be conducted.

   

• Standard Minute Values (SMVs), line balancing, and workforce optimization strategies shall be established, implemented, and monitored.

   

• Daily production efficiency, output levels, and operational limitations in cut-to-pack operations shall be analyzed.

   

• Production, planning, and quality team collaboration shall be done to provide the necessary timelines and ensure that the efficiency targets are met.

   

• Production KPIs will be monitored, performance data will be evaluated, and comprehensive Industrial Engineering reports will be prepared.

   

• Timely participation in continuous improvement activities aimed at increasing productivity, minimizing waste, and improving work performance will be assured.

   

• Proper IE standards, production layouts, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) documentation will be completed, maintained, and updated in a timely manner.

   

• Upper management will be supported in the adoption of the best practices for enhancing the overall performance of the operations.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Textile Engineering, or a related discipline

• Experience: 4 to 5 years of relevant experience in Industrial Engineering, specifically within garment or textile cut-to-pack operations

• Proven hands-on experience with production analysis and efficiency improvement

Required Skills & Competencies

• High-level know-how on the calculation of standard-minute-values (SMV), time and motion studies, line balancing, and the application of methods of productivity improvement.

   

• Lengthy involvement in the making of garments or textiles with emphasis on the cut-to-pack stage.

   

• Expertise in using Microsoft Excel and reporting tools for production.

   

• Very good logical, organizing, and troubleshooting skills.

   

• Capacity to work well under pressure in the fast-moving manufacturing area.

   

• Exceptional verbal communication and collaboration skills.
